German runners at Fontainebleau

Main feature at Fontainebleau today is the listed Prix Cor de Chasse at 15.20 for 3yo´s and up over 1100 metres. An international field will line up, the 9 runners including 2 from Germany, 2 from the UK and one from Italy. Clear favourite however is Tiza, whose trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre and jockey Gerald Mossé combined to win the big race yesterday at Saint-Cloud. The German runners Molly Max (Miroslav RFulec/ Daniele Porcu) and Laokoon (Mario Hofer/ Andreas Suborics) have good place chances, especially the former if he can recover his good 2yo form.

The British hopes are mainly centred on Judge ´N Jury (Ron Harris/ Chris Catlin), Handicapper of the Year in England in 2008 after winning 7 races and recently third at this level at Lingfield. Bluster, the only 3yo in the field, is also interesting, especially with top jockey Olivier Peslier aboard. There are several other German runners here today: Malachito (Hofer/ Subi) in a 1200 metres race at 13.50, Auenwunder (Rulec/ Porcu) in a race over 2000 metres for 3yo fillies at 14.20, and Bella Amica (Marion Rotering/ Maxime Guyon) and Wise Man (Werner Baltromei/ Dominique Boeuf) in a conditions race over 2000 metres at 16.50. If Wise Man were back to the form he showed at Cagnes in early 2008, he would have a definite chance here.
