German runners at Fontainebleau

Gestüt Auenquelle´s Glad Sky, who won the big 2yo sales race at last October´s Baden-Baden meeting, makes his seasonal reappearance today in a conditions race for 3yo´s over 1200 metres at 15.35 at Fontainebleau. He was trained last year by Karen Haustein, but is now with Miroslav Rulec and will be ridden by Italian jockey Daniele Porcu. Other German runners on the card are Kristopher (Werner Hefter/ Dominique Boeuf) in a mile race for 3yo maidens at 14.05, and Owentuo (Stefan Wegner/ Delphine Santiago) in a conditions race also over a mile for lady jockeys at 15.05. Owentuo would have a good chance on his old form, but oldtimer Valentino, now trained in Holland and with Kati Werning in the saddle, appears hard to beat here on recent evidence. Also in France today is the second leg of the Grand National du Trot, run this time over 3000 metres at 13.50 at Marseille.
