Cheltenham: filial duty for Pipe and Henderson?

The last two races of the N.H. festival meeting are named after those well-known Cheltenham characters Martin Pipe and Johnny Henderson, and it is clear that their sons David and Nicky would very much like to win those races. David Pipe in particular is lauching a large-scale assault on the Martin Pipe condotional jockeys handicap hurdle over 2 1/2 miles at 17.40 CET (a new event) with no fewer than 8 runners. Mamlook (Hadden Frost) and Big eared Fran (Johnny Farrelly) look the most likely of them to score, but German-bred oldtimer Caracciola (Nicky Henderson/ Richie Killoran) could be dangerous if the ground dries out. The Johnny Hemnderson Grand Annual chase over 2 miles at 18.15 is another big handicap with a huge field. Surprisingly Henderson´s stable joclkey Barry Geraghty partners My Petra, while the stable´s more fancied runner French Opera is ridden by Marcus Foley. There are dangers galore, including Palarshan (Henry Daly/ Andrew Tinkler), Tiger Cry (Artur Moore/ D av Russell) -last year´s winner, Paul Nicholls´pair Pasco (Sam Thomas) and Poquelin (Ruby Walsh) and German-bred Moon over Miami (Charlie Mann( Noel Fehily). All we can say is - good luck!
