Paul Nicholls to go through card at Fontwell?

easily the best racing in Britain today takes place at Fontwell, with several races likely to offer last-minute Cheltenham clues, but the main interest is in the strong challenge of top trainer Paul Nicholls, who has fancied runners in all 7 races and it is by no means inconceivable that he could go through the card - an extraordinary feat. Needless to say, Ruby Walsh partners most of the stable´s runners, but Nicholls is doubly represented in some races, while an amateur partners Royal Auclair in the hunters chase. Most important event is the Grade Two National Spirit Hurdle over 2 1/2 miles at 16.45 CET, which could go to the admirably tough and consistent Lough Derg (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore), who won this race last season and has put up sone excellent performances since. Afsoun (Nicky Henderson/ Barry Geraghty) has a Champion Hurdle place to his credt, but probably swerves Cheltenham this year, while Straw Bear (Nick Gifford/ Tony McCoy) has also seen his Champion Hurdl e hopes take a knock or two. Hills of Aran (Keith Goldsworthy/ Bernie Wharfe) comes into the reckoning on his excellent run againbst Kasbah Bliss last time, but the really interesting runner is Nocholls´ Pierrot Lunaire (Walsh), who has fallen on both his starts this season, but looked potentially very smart when winning at last year´s Grand National meeting. Alfie Sherrin in the novice hurdle at 15.10 and Kicks for Free in the novice chase at 15.40 are two
hot favourites likely to score for the Nicholls/ Walsh team, and certainly it seems realistic to expect four -or even more!- winners for the Ditcheat stable.
