Lingfield today

Today´s all-weather racing comes from Lingfield, but again the card is very modest. The "best" race is the class 4 handicap over 6 furlongs at 16.30 CET, where there are only 5 runners.

Top-weight Chjimes (Conor Dore/ Liam Keniry) is in excellent form, having won 3 of his last 4 races, all with this jockey. He showed good speed to get up close home here over 5 furlongs on Saturday, and this trip is probably better. Wotashortfull (James Boyle/ Martin Dwyer), just touched off at Southwell last time, and all-weather specialist Grand Parade (Derek Shaw/ Dane O´Neill) are the obvious dangers. More interesting could be the maiden races. Dance and Dance (Eddie Vaughan/ Jamie Spencer) and Head Down (Richard Hannon/ Pat Dobbs), both placed in all their 3 starts this year, are both due for a win and clash in the 7 furlongs race at 15.30. The former appears to have the better form, while well-bred Hector Spectre (Brian Meehan/ Martin Dwyer) is an interesting newcomer.

The debutants could also have the call in the 6 furlongs race for 3yo maidens at 16.00, where 7 of the 11 runners are making their racecourse debuts. Keep Ringing (William Haggas/ Gilmar Pereira) and L´Arco Baleno (Simon Callaghan/ Holly Hall) could be the pick of them, but the one to beat is surely Five Gold Rings (Jamie Osborne/ Shane Kelly), who showed great promise on his debut and is clearly the best of those with experience.
