German runners at Cagnes-sur-mer

The Cagnes-sur-mer meeting is coming to a close and today gives two German trainers the chance to improve their record here - Werner Baltromei (three winners so far, well below expectations) and Pavel Vovcenko (two wins so far). Baltromei saddles Australian Airline (Dominique Boeuf) in the 3yo handicap over 2150 metres at 14.35, and the colt, who has twice run well here, can finally get off the mark today. Vovcenko runs the unreliable Salon Turtle (Julien Augé) in a 2000 metres handicap on fibresand at 17.35. The 10yo, who runs in the popular colours of Stall onextwo, was an expensive flop last time, but is always capable of winning off this handicap rating.
