Friday at Nad al Sheba

For the first time at this year´s Dubai Racing Carnival, there will also be racing on a Friday, and a high-class card is headed by the UAE 1,000 Guineas at 19.15 CET. This looks a three-way race between the two Godolphin runners Devotee (Frankie Dettori) and Sos Brillante (Ted Durcan) and Mike de Kock´s India Tiberina. It is probably significant that Dettori has chose Devotee over the unbeaten Sos Brillante and with the Saeed bin Suroor stable in great form (another double here yesterday), she has to be the selection. Two very interesting runners on the undercard from the German point of view are Santiago Atitlan (Andreas Wöhler/ Eduardo Pedroza) in the second division of the 6 furlongs handicap at 16.50 and ex-German Apollo Star, who has top-weight in the 9 furlongs handicap at 18.05, both of these races on turf. Sabtiago Atitlan ran badly on his first start here, but is expected to give a much better performance now; his main opponents are Asset (bin Suroor/ Dettori) and Wa rsaw (de Kock/ Johnny Murtagh). Apollo Star, a strong front-runner, will be partnered by Stephane Pasquier and has King´s Bandit (Herman Brown/ Ryan Moore), Alexandros (bin Suroor/ Dettori) and Biarritz (de Kock/ Shea) as his most dangerous opponents.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Instant Recall - Nights Cross - Benllech
2. Race: Asset - Black Mambazo - Change Alley
3. Race: Art Of War - Plavius - Trust N Dustan
4. Race: Alexandros - Kings Gambit - Apollo Star
5. Race: Veracity - Mourilyan - Lion Sands
6. Race: Earth Living - Sos Brillante - Devotee
7. Race: Aqmaar - River Tiber - Vertigineux
