Baltromei tries again at Cagnes-sur-mer

Werner Baltromei´s Cagnes-sur-mer expedition this year has not been nearly as successful as was the case a year ago, but he tries again today with 6 runners at the Riviera course, where once again all races will be run on the fibresand track. Samiro (Dominique Boeuf) is expected to run well in the opening tiercé handicap over 2400 metres at 12.50, but this is a really tough race with 16 runners. Marito (Boeuf) runs in the conditions race for 3yo´s over 2000 metres at 14.20, but the opposition here looks very strong and is headed by Validor (Henri-Alex Pantall/ Fabrice Veron). Journey Time (Boeuf) looks to have a better chance in the second division of the 2400 metres handicap for 4yo´s at 14.50, while Amuse Gueule (Boeuf) and Stillbai (Koen Clijmans) both run under the Sid-Ali Ghoumrassi banner in the claiming race for 3yo´s at 15.20. Possibly the best chance of a German sccess is in the 2000 metres claimer at 15.50. Song of Tiger (Baltromei/ Boeuf), who has been disappointin g so far, drops into this grade for the first time, but the selection on recent form must be Naranja (Pavel Vovcenko/ Thierry Thulliez), who has already won twice at this meeting.
