2 group races and UAE Oaks at Nad al Sheba

The Dubai Racing Carnival continues today with another strong card and maximum fields in most races. The main events are the Group Three Al Quoz Sprint over 6 furlongs at 18.15 CET, the Group Three Zabeel Mile at 19.15 (both on turf) and the UAE Oaks on dirt at 18.45. This last-named event has 8 runners, 6 of whom ran in the UAE 1000 Guineas, where So Shiny (Jerry Barton/ Mick Kinane) ran out a easy winner from the fast-finishing Japanese filly Earth Living (M.Ogasa/ Christophe Lemaire) with hot favourite Devotee (Saeed bin Suroor/ Frankie Dettori) flopping badly. A different result this time would be no huge surprise. The Zabeel Mile has 4 runners trained by Mike de Kock and jockey bookings suggest that Archipenko (Kevin Shea) and King of Rome (Johnny Murtagh) are the two best, although the latter is running over a much shorter trip than usual. Tam Lin (Saeed bin Suroor/ Dettori) looks the main danger. De Kock and bin Suroor, easily the two leading trainers over years at th is meeting, also go head to head in the Al Quoz Sprint, with JJ the Jet Plane (de Kock/ Shea) against Hatta Fort (bin Suroor/ Frankie) - German entry Peace Royale is a non-runner here. In the DRC Gold Cup at 17.45, the first ever race over 2 miles at the meeting. Veracity (bin Suroor/ Dettori) and Mourilyan (Herman Brown/ Ryan Moore), a close second and third over 1 3/4 miles here last time, clash again and there should be little in it.
