Wetherby and Lingfield

Main feature of Wetherby´s N.H. card is the Grade Two novice chase over 3 miles 1 furlong at 16.25 CET. Only 5 runners but all of them are pretty smart and Will be Done (Donald McCain/ Jason Maguire) is expected to run here inm preference to Sandown. He has won his last 4 races and is a young chaser with a future, but Comoanero (Howard Johnson/ Denis O´Regan) has won his last 5 and looks a big threat, while if the ground comnes up heavy, Skippers Brig (Len Lungo/ Keith Renwick), also a multiple winner but moving up in trip, could come out best. Limgfield´s all-weather fixture has as its highlights two class 2 handicaps, over 5 furlongs at 16.20 and over 1 1/2 miles at 16.55. The sprint race looks very tricky and sees a rematch between Doubtful Sound (Reg Hollinshead/ Jim Crowley), an easy winner over 6 furlongs last time, and Little Edward (Ron Hidges/ Marc Geramn), Matsunosuke (Barney Cooney/ Luke Morris) and Ebraam (ÜPaul Howing/ Tolley Dean), respectively 2nd,3rd and 7th in that event. A new opponent is David Elsworth´s Swiss Franc (Jamie Spencer), who has not run since twice finishing behind Duff in listed events before Christmas. If fully wound up, he can win today. In the staying race, lightly-raced Wine ´n Dine (Gary Moore/ Jimmy Quinn) can score off bottom wieght, but Grand Passion (Chris Wall/ George Baker), despite some disappointing performances, would be very dangerous if back to his old form.
