Jumping today at Folkestone

Folkestone has passed an early morning inspection and racing goes ahead at the Kent track. The weather is however now very wet and the ground will be testing, which may not suit German-bred Weststern (Sam Hanson), who is having his first race for Gary Moore in the handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys at 14.20 CET. Another German-bred with a slight chance is hurdles debutant Gofannon (Charlie Mann/ Noel Fehily) at 15.20. Laharna (Lucy Wadham/ Dominic Elsworth), an easy winner at Huntingdon at Christmas, can follow up under a penalty in the 2 mile handicap chase at 15.20, while the 3 miles 1 furlong handicap chase at 16.20 is the toughest race of the day, especially if the rain continues. Venetia Williams´ National Petition (Sam Thomas) has won his last 3 races but has gone up in the weights, and on these terms last-time-out winner Solid as a Rock (Grant Cann/ Tom O´Brien) can be preferred.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Doctored - Atahuelpa - Rhetorical
2.Race: Laharna - Mucho Loco - Amir El Jabal
3.Race: Psi - Silk Affair - Red And White
4.Race: Ballyaahbutt - Kappelhoff - Justabout
5.Race: National Petition - Syncopated Rhythm - Solid As A Rock
6.Race: Alasi - Ryde Back - Gentle Caribou
