All-weather action at Great Leighs and Southwell

The two all-weather meetings today offer only unattractive sport and punters should be careful with theur bets, and races at this level often thrown up unpredictable results. In addition the fields at Great Leighs are quite small (no field larger than 7) and some races may be run at a false pace. Jamie Spencer landed a hat-trick here on Sunday, and while he was emoty-handed yesterday he can be among the winners today, as he has rides in every race - all for different trainers. His best prospects would appear to be Desert Strike for Paul Cole at 15.10 CET, Distinctly Game for Kevin Ryan at 14.40 and Joe Jo Star for Richard Fahey at 17.40, all three carrying top-weight in moderate handicaps.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Deckchair - Desert Strike - Abu Derby
2.Race: Milne Bay - Sendreni - Distinctly Game
3.Race: Taikoo - Benedict Spirit - Baan
4.Race: Millfield - Kensington - Pension Policy
5.Race: Open Sesame - Solo Choice - Dante Deo
6.Race: Joe Jo Star - Scutch Mill - Miss Understanding

The racing at Southwell is more competitive as the fields are larger, but the standard is even lower. Gay Kelleway can possibly land a double here with Bienheureux (Matthew Lawson) at 14.30 and Fortunella (Paul Mulrennan) half an hour later. Charlotte Gray (Phil McBride/ Duran Fentiman) made all to win here over 6 furlongs last time and can defy a 6lbs penalty and an extra furlong to confrm the form with runner-up Nautical (Jim Holt/ Jerry O´ Dwyer) at 16.00. Our long-shot each way suggestion is the unreliable (but so are they all) Diminuto (Mark Usher/ Cathy Gannon) in the opening 5 furlongs seller at 14.00.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Grimes Faith - Back In The Red - Spic `N Span
2.Race: Jocheski - Red Tarn - Black Falcon
3.Race: Sabancaya - Fortunella - Sea Cliff
4.Race: Diamond Surprise - Trick Or Two - La Capriosa
5.Race: Charlotte Grey - Nautical - Mister Benji
6.Race: Ultimate - Kochanski - Benozzo Gozzoli
7.Race: Triple Axel - Mrs Bun - Tri Chara
