All-weather action at Lingfield and Wolverhampton

All-weather racing this afternoon at Lingfield and this evening at Wolverhampton, with easily the best race the very last event - at 22.20 CET at Wolverhampton, a class 2 conditions race over 9 furlongs with 20,000 GBP in prize-money. Docofthebay (Jamie Osborne/ Shane Kelly) is the obvious choice here, even though this top handicapper has not run since finishing 26th (!) in the Cambridgeshire. On ratings, he has little in hand of Fajr (Gay Kelleway/ Jimmy Quinn), but this one has been out of form lately. Clive Brittain´s Mahadee has a good all-weather record and could be a danger, but it is not clear if Jamie Spencer will be able to ride; he apparently pulled a muscle yesterday when riding Safin (which partly explains that one´s poor performance). The 7 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s at 21.20 should concern mainly William Haggas´ last-time-out winner Dream Date, with the promising Brazilian apprentice Gilmar Pereira aboard, and the very consistent Hellbemnder (Silvester Kirk/ R ichard Kingscote), who has not ben out of the first two in his last 5 starts.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Forever`S Girl - Rocket Ruby - Kheley
2.Race: United Nations - Teasing - Dancing Deano
3.Race: Chalice Welcome - Desert Hawk - Ridgeway Jazz
4.Race: Dream Date - Hellbender - Trueblue Wizard
5.Race: Ardent Prince - Nabeeda - Guildenstern
6.Race: Docofthebay - Abbondanza - Mahadee

At Lingfield, the 5 furlongs handicap at 15.50 is the hottest race. Nickel Silver (Bryan Smart/ Tom Eaves) has alreay won 3 races - two of them this CD - this month, while Thoughts of Stardom (Phil McEntee/ Luke Morris) won 3 of his las4 4 races, all this CD and all before Christmas. Chjimes (Charles Dore/ Liam Keniry) and Cosmic Destiny (Eddie Vaughan/ Chris Catlin) also look dangerous, though bith are coming off a break of about 8 weeks. On the other hand, the 10 furlongs handicap at 16.25 has a large field but very few runners in good recent form. Perhaps the 9yo German-bred Polish Power (Stan Moore/ Liam Keniry), off since October and very inconsistent last year, can bounce back to his best after his layoff and back on his favourite track.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Excusez Moi - Mutamared - Desert Dreamer
2.Race: Imperial Skylight - Trusted Venture - Flawless Diamond
3.Race: Just The Lady - Quick Single - Red Cell
4.Race: Whiskey Creek - Admiral Bond - Joss Stick
5.Race: Nickel Silver - Thoughtsofstardom - Fromsong
6.Race: Stand Guard - Dream Of Fortune - Phoenix Flight
7.Race: Lacrosse - Haljaferia - Green Passion
