German runners at Deauville

the winter meeting on the fibregrass track at Deauville has been a big hit with owners and trainers and once again there are maximum fields today in all 12 races (4 before lunch, 8 in the afternoon). Numerous would-be runners had to be eliminated, including several trained in Germany. Just 3 German runners are left, 2 of which contest the claiming race for 3yo fillies over 2400 metres at 14.05: Quadraga (Hans Blume/ Jeremy Croquemonsieur) and Born to Win (Christian von der Recke/ Vincent Vion). In a similar race at Lyon recently, Quardaga finished well in front of Born to Win and logically we should have the same result today. 11yo Grantley (Heinz Hesse/ Julien Augé) is the other German runner; the veteran sandtrack specialist runs in a handicap over 1900 metres at 16.05
