there is a strongly contested listed race at Toulouse today, the Prix Max Picard over 2400 metres at 14.30, the 14th and last leg of the Defi du Galop. The field of 12 includes a runner from Germany, Hans Blume´s Sassoaloro (Alxi Badel) and two runners trained in England by Paul Blockley, the more interesting of which is surely Lady Deauville (Hayley Turner), a recent winner with this rider in Hanover. The strong local defence is headed by Latin Mood (Philippe Demercastel/ Stephane Oasquier) and Elasos (D. Sepulchre/ Davy Bonilla). There is also a good trotting card at Vincennes, featuring the Criterium des 3 Ans at 14.50.
