N.H. racing at Ayr and Ludlow

After the high cass action at Ascot, Haydock, Aintree and in Ireland at the weekend, today´s jumps cards at Ayr and Ludlow have a very second division look. Best race at Ayr is the class 3 handicap chase at 15.45 over 2 1/2 miles CET, where the field of 7 includes two German-breds, with the Acatenango gelding First Look (Peter Monteith/ Rhys Flint), who has a good record here, easily preferred to Euro American (George Moore/ Barry Keniry); last-time-out winner Tell Henry (Martin Todhunter/ Barry Keniry) is an obvious danger. The behginers hase there at 14.40 should lie between Great Approach (Nicky Richards Fearghal Davis) and Quws Law (Lucinda Russell Peter Buchanan) and the same two stables can dominate the novice hurdle half an hour later with Merrydown and Crackerjack Lad respectively. At Ludlow, the main feature is also a class 3 handicap chase over 2 1&2 miles, due at 15.25, and there are several possibilities here, including Ping Pong Sivola (Venetia Williams Aidan Col eman) and Picot de Say (Chris Roberts Jack Doyle). The beginners chase half an hour later should mainly involve Kia Kaha (Jonjo O= Neill Tony McCoy) and The Dukes Speech (Ferdy Murphy Graham Lee).
