Newbury and Musselburgh

The N.H. racing this afternoon comes from Newbury, the second day of their Hennessy Gold Cup meeting, and Mussleburgh in Scotland, where Little Shillimng (Tim Vaughan/ Robbie Killoran) looks a god thing to complete a quick hat-trick in the opening handicap hurdle over 3 miles for conditional jockeys at 13.10 CET. He has won twice in the last 10 days with the greatest of ease and a 14 lbs penalty should not stop him in this company. Another top weight with good prospects is German-bred Los Nadis, whio had no chance last week against Binocular, but should go well in the 2 mile handicap hurdle at 15.20 for trainer Peter Monteith with regular jockey Ryan Mania aboard. He can improve his already good course record by defeating Maneki Neko and Amazing King.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Little Shilling - Tara Queen - Glen Rouge
2.Race: Call Me Al - Houston Dynimo - Don`T Stop Me Now
3.Race: Run To Space - Bow School - Ho Pang Yau
4.Race: Broadway Star - Glencree - Danzatrice
5.Race: Maneki Neko - Los Nadis - Mr Jack Daniells
6.Race: All For The Cause - Moor Spirit - Beggars Cap
7.Race: Meridian City - Southerness - Leith Walk

Main feature at Newbury is the class 1 novice chase over 2 1/2 miles at 15.40. Only 4 runners, but still an interesting race, particularly with The Market Man (Nicky Henderson/ Barry Geraghty) in the field. He missded all of 2006 and 2007 and has not run since being pulled up in Cheltenham´s World Hurdle, but if back t form, he can take care of Kicks for Free and Ring the Boss. The opening 3yo hurdle at 14.00 sees some interesting hurdles debutants line up, notably Alan King´s Mount Helicon (Robert Thornton), a 600,000 guineas yearling who was listed-placed for André Fabre. There are 18 runnes in the 3 mile handicap hurdle at 15.05 but it is hard to see the consistent Ballydub (Philip Hobbs/ Richard Johnson) finish out of the money after his excellent effort at Cheltenham last time. The main dangers could be Ringaroses (Henrietta Knight/ Timmy Murphy) and Miko de Beauchene(Sue Alner/ Andrew Thornton), who finished second in this a year ago before winning the Welsh Grand Natio nal, which is once again his main target.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Mount Helicon - Art Trend - Nino Cochise
2.Race: Kilcrea Asla - Buck The Legend - Red Man Ray
3.Race: Ballydub - Galient - Green Mile
4.Race: Kicks For Free - The Market Man - Ring The Boss
5.Race: Michael Muck - The Real Deal - Prince De Bersy
6.Race: Riverside Theatre - Copper Bleu - China Gold
