German runners at Saint-Cloud

Today is the last day of flat racing for this year in the Paris region, and the Saint-Cloud fixture has therefore attracted some huge fields, so that winners will not be easy to find on the expected very heavy going. Once again there are several German-trained runners, starting with Peter Schiergen´s La Tournesol (Filip Minarik) in the listed race for fillies over 2500 metres at 13.35. Schiergen also saddles Emporio (Melanie Plat) in the 24oo metres claiming race for lady amateur riders at 14.35 and this one is likely to start a warm favourite after two very easy wins in France; however he has a huge weight and must concede 7 kilos to Horst Steinmetz´ Montirat (Helen Corcoran) among others, so he is no certainty. Swing and Rock (Andreas Trybuhl/ William Mogil) and Bee Keen (Dr. Bolte/ Markus Kolb) both run in the 2100 metres claiming race for 3yo´s an hour later, while Beau Marchand (Conny Brandstätter/ Mattias Sautjeau), Nasibow (Steinmetz/ Dominique Boeuf) and Pennekar (Nor bert Sauer/ Henk Grewe) are entered in the 2800 metres handicap at 16.05.
