German runners at Saint-Cloud

Another big French win for Germany yesterday, when Mario Hofer and Andreas Helfenbein won a valuable Group Two race with Smooth Operator, and there could be more winners today at Saint-Cloud, where there are German-trained runners in 6 races. Hofer and Helfenbein set the ball rolling with Nobelment in a 3yo race over2100 metres at 14.05 and follow up with Leni Riefenstahl in the main feature, a mile listed race for 3yo fillkies at 14.35, in which Werner Baltromei´s Time to Beat (Dominique Boeuf) is also engaged. Baltromei and Boeuf are also represented by Fever in the 3yo handicap at 15.05, while there are 4 German rnners in the claimer over 1400 metres for "young jockeys" at 15.35: Cheeky Jack (Hofer/ Nicolas Perret), Salon Turtle (Pavel Vovcenko/ Delphine Santiago), Mill Lady (Michael Trybuhl/ Frankie Leroy) and The Yellow (Baltromei/ Gaetan Masure). Horst Steinmetz saddles Amadeus (Davy Bonilla) over 3000 ,metres at 16.05 and half an hour later, 3 more Germans run in the m ile claimer: Crossbill (Hofer/ Christophe Soumillon), Daudet (Hans Blume/ Boeuf) and Spy Glass (Vovcenko/ Thierry Thulliez). It would be quite surprising if there were no German winners today and our tip for the best German chance is Daudet.
