N.H.racing in Britain and Ireland

the autumn is upon us and there are 3 N.H. meetings today, at Uttoxeter and Wetherby in the U.K. and Punchestown in Ireland. Rony McCoy can make his trip to Wetheby pay off by riding a double for Irish trainer Gordon Elliott with Mhilo in the novice hurdle at 17.20 CET and Hoopy in the beginners chase half an hour later. He also has a chance on Jonjo O´Neill´s Olay Olay in the handicap chase at 16.50, but the trip of 2 1/2 miles seems a bit short, in which case Yes Sir (Peter Bowen/ Seamus Duack) and Borora (Richard Lee/ Jamie Moore) can be preferred. Another possible Irish winner at the fixture is John McConnell´s Coolnharan (Davy Condon) in the 2 mile handicap hurdle at 16.15. In Ireland itself there are huge fields at Punchestown, with a maximum field of 25 in each of the 4 hurdle races. The Fist of God (Noel Meade/ Paul Carberry) can take the opening maiden hurdle for 3yo´s at 15.35; he was beaten at odds-on last time but deserves another chance and his trainer ad jockey can complete a double with Offaly in the handicap chase at 17.45. There are also sme large fields at Utoxeter, where Tagula Blue (Ian Williams/ Jason Maguire) looks a good thing to defeat 14 opponents in the selling hurdle at 17.10. The novice hurdöle at 16.05 looks the most interesting race here. Diamond Harry (Nick Williams/ Timmy Murphy) was unbeaten in bumpers and could be a real prospect, but Awesome George (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) and Tom Know (David Pipe/ Hadden Frost?) are just two of several possible dangers
