Lingfield and Yarmouth

mainly large fields of moderate horses at today´s two British flat meetings; all 15 races, both at Yarmouth and on the all-weather at Lingfield are class 5 or 6. The most interesting events at Yarmouth are the two divisions of the mile race for 2yo maiden fillies, and Godolphin´ s Mezenah, whose dam is a half-siser to "Arc" winner Lammtarra, looks a good thing to win the first division at 15.20 CET after her good recent debut. With stable jockey Frankie Dettori on the way to California to ride in the Breeders Cup, Ted Durcan has the mount and the only danger would appear to be the unraced but well-bred Shaaridh (Mark Johnston/ Richard Hills). Richard Hills can also take the second division at 16.50 with Mayaalah,one of two runners trained by John Gosden (stable-companion Take the Hint, with Robert Havlin aboard, also has a chance), while Hills teams up again with Mark Johnston and Taazar in the 6 furlongs 2yo maiden at 15.50. William Haggas, who is enjoying a highly successfu l season, can land a double at Lingfield with Baron Otto (Liam Jones) in the 2yo maiden at 15.30 and Silvanius (Eddie Ahern) in the 5 furlongs handicap at 17.30, while Simon Callaghan´s Five Star Junior (Chris Catlin) should win the 6 furlongs maiden for 2yo´s at 16.30 if he can reproduce his effort when beaten in a photo at Kempton last week.
