German runners at Longchamp

Longchamp stages a good card today with two group races and German chances in both .Poseidon Adventure (Wolfgang Figge/ Andreas Suborics), so unlucky in the Preis von Europa three weeks ago, runs here in the Group Two Prix du Conseil de Paris at 15.20 following the abandonment of Milan, where all racing has been cancelled for the foreseeable future. He clearly has a fair chance here, though the opposition is strong and is headed by three Andre Fabre runners, best of whom should be Prospect Wells (Olivier Peslier), despite his disappointing performance last time.

Luca umani´s Purple Moon (Jamie Spencer) is another big threat. Mario Hofer, who has had such a successful week in France, saddles King of Sydney (Jean-Pierre Carvalho) in the Group Three Prix de Conde for 2yo´s over 1800 metres at 15.50. Handsome Maestro (David Smaga( Olivier Peslier) and Zafisio (Paul Blockley/ Darryl Holland), who have both won their last two starts, look the pick of the international opposition. There are also German runners in several of the supporting events, but these races all look very tricky.
