Catterick, Newmarket and Wolverhampton

The remaining 3 meetings toda in the U.K. are relatively modest, even Newmarket, whose card is certanly weak for a Saturay. Best race here is the class 2 handicap for 3yo´s over 10 furlongs at 16.50, where 6 of the 9 runners are last-time-out winners. Grande Annee (Jeremy Noseda/ Tom Queally), after winning three successie races over a mile, is now stepping up in distance, while Deep Winter (Richatrd Fahey/ Dale Gibson), winner of 4 of his last 5, is stepping up in grade. Darryll Holland is having a good run and perhaps he can control the race from the front on the grey Midships (Amanda Perrett). The 1 1/2 mile handicap at 16.35 at Cattrerick has only 7 runners but still looks very tricky. Alan Swinbank´s Another Moment (PJ McDonald) has good bumper form and was a narrow winner of his only race on the flat; he could be anything, but consistent Shady Gloom (Kevin Ryan/ Joe Fanning) looks the more reliable bet. At Wolverhampton´s all-weathe evening meeting, Stan Moore´s Fullbac k (Liam Keniry) can finally get off the mark in the 2yo maiden at 20.50 after finishing second on all four races so far, but Ascendant (Sir Mark Prescott/ Jean-Pierre Guillambert) looks a big threat.
