Start of Deauville summer season

The Deauville summer season starts today and continues with a month of nearly non-stop racing, including many top level events. Main feature today is the Group Three Prix de Psyche for 3yo fillies over 2000 metres at 15.20 CET, in which Peter Schiergen´s Goathemala (Andrasch Starke) is a challenger for Germany. German fillies have often run well here and she has a good chance of finishing in the money; André Fabre´s Proviso (Stephane Pasquier) looks the likely favourite here. Other German runners on the card are: Heinz Hesse´s Langford (Pasquier) in the tiercé handicap over 2000 metres at 14.45, Wilfried Kujath´s Perfect Courtesy (Josephne Kelly) in a race for lady riders over 1900 metres on fibresand at 16.25, and on a claiming race over the same distance, Mannico (Mario Hofer/ Johan Victoire) at 16.55
