Southwell (N.H.) and Wolverhampton

Southwell stages one its rare N.H. meetings this afternoon, with little quality but some large fields and very open races. Tony McCoy has five rides and it would be no surprise to see him in the winner´s circle a few times. He has three promising rides for Jonjo O`Neill: Granite Man in te handicap chase at 15.15 CET, Charge It in the novices handicap chase an hour later, and Fresh Air and Fun another hour later in the novice hurdle. He also partners Insignia for Alison Thorpe at 15.45 and Muntami in the handicap hurdle at 17.45 for trainer John Harris. At Wolverhampton, it could the turn to Seb Sanders to shine. He has three mounts, all with winning chances: Elegant Cad for John Best, dropped in grade in the 2yo maiden at 15.30, Black Falcon for John Harris in the 1 1/2 mile selling race at 16.00 and top-weight Haven´t a Clue for his boss Sir Mark Prescott in the 2yo handicap half an hour later. After yesterday´ s disaster in Sweden, where he was banned for 14 days after failing an alcohol test, Sanders needs every winner he can find to keep up his challenge to Ryan Moore for the jockeys´ championship.
