Newbury and Nottingham this afternoon

Easily the best race today in the U,K. and Ireland is the listed event for 2yo fillies over 5 furlongs at 15.20 CET at Newbury. Several speedy sorts entered here, including Shyrl (Simon Callaghan/ Seb Sanders), narrowly beaten in the Queen Maty at Royal Ascot, where Lucky Leigh (Mick Channon/ Sam Hitchcott) was not far behind.Possibly Channon´s second runner Kerry´s Requiem (Tadge O´Shea) could be equally dangerous, althiugh she has to concede weight all round, Excellerator (George Baker/ Martin Dwyer) ran an excellent race at Ascot´s July meeting to be 3rd of 16 over 6 furlongs in a Group Three and may be suited better by the minumum trip, while Eoghan O´Neill´s Riotista (Chris Catlin) was a very easy of a minor event at Beverley on her only start and could be anything. Also at Newbury, Manyriverstocross (Alan King/ David Probert) looks likely to start warm favourite for the class 3 handicap over 1 mile 5 furlongs at 14.50, but top-weight Akarem (Karl Burke/ Fergus Sweeney) could be an each-way alternative at a big price. At Nottingham, the 10 furlongs fillies handicap at 16.45 looks the most interesting race. Quirina (John Gosden/ Ted Durcan) was an easy winner 6 weeks ago when last seen, while Amicable Terms (Rae Guest/ William Carson) and Snowdrop Princess (William Haggas/ Kirsty Milczarek) are both in great form; the former has won 4 of her last 8 starts, and been placed the other 4, while the latter has won her last two, both with this jockey.
