Listed races at Chester and Newbury

Although Sunday raciung in the U.K. is usually at low leel, today´s meetings at Chester and Newbury both featurea listed race. At Newbury it is a fillies race over 1 1/2 miles at 16.15 CET with11 runners. If yesterday´s rain has got into the ground this would certainly be to the advantage of Gull Wing (Michael Bell/ Jamie Spencer), a daghter of In the Wins. Otherwise, Ronaldsay (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) and Cosmosdrome (Luca Cumani/ Seb Sanders) could be the two to concentrate on; when they met 7 weeks ago, the former won in a photo, but the latter is now 3 lbs better off, so could reverse the form today. A Chester, the main feature is a 6 furlingfs race at 16.25. This looks wide open with 14 runners. Normally at this tight track, horses drawn on the outside face a huge disadvantage over sprint distances, and it would probably be wise to concentrate on runners drawn 8 or less. In this case Damika (Roger Whitaker/ Jim Crowley, drawn 6), CD specialist Green Manalishi (Kevin Ryan, drawn 2) and the ex-Argentinian Que Piense Cat (Saeed bin Suroor/ Ted Durcan, drawn 7) should be on the short list. There is also some competitive N.H. racing this afternoon at Market Rasen
