German runners at Deauville

Main feature at Deauville today, on the penultimate fixture of the August meeting, is a listed race for 2yo´s over 1400 metres at 14.50, and British raider Wildcat Wizard (Paul Cole/ Christophe Soumillon) mist have good prospects of defeating his 5 French-trained opponents. There are three German-trained runners on the undercard, all trained by Werner Baltromei and ridden by Dominique Boeuf. Loup de Mer is very reliable these days and can follow up his easy win at Clairefontaine on Monday by taking the 3000 metres claiming race at 16.50; he does however meet several old opponents on worse terms this time, so it may not be as easy as it was earlier in the week. The other stable runners are Fever in the 3yo maiden over 1500 metres (fibresand) at 15.50 and Genoveva in a 3yo handicap (also over 1500 metres on fibresand) at 17.20
