German runners at Deauville

The Deauville August meeting is drawing to a close and today´s meeting is very low level. There are several German-trained runners in action, and easily the best of them is Dieter Fechner´s Mosles (Johan Victoire) in the opening tiercé handicap over 2000 metres at 13.50. However this is as usual a brutally difficult race and Mosles will have to be in top form. Christian von der Recke´s Wango Girl (Christophe Soumillon) runs in a much lower grade when she contests the claiming race for 2yo fillies over 1500 metres at 15.50. Another claiming race, this time for older horses over 1900 metres at 16.50 on the fibresand track and for riders that have not won 10 races this year, is the target for Gerald Geisler´s Salon Turtle (Berengere Picart) and World in Action (Doris Smith/ Carolin Lippert). It is a long way from Munich to Normandy, and Salon Turtle, although very inconsistent, must have a good chance to score here for his sporting owners.
