Brighton, Lingfield and Worcester

U.K. racing this afternoon at Brighton,Limgfiueld (the first 3 races on turf - good to firm- and the last 4 on the all-weather) and Worcester (N.H.). From the German pont of view the most interesting runner of the day is Christian von der Recke´s Wildbach, who runs in a selling handicap hurdle at 16.20 CET at Worcester, with in the saddle Tony McCoy, who has an excellent strike rate for the stable. The opposition looks very weak, the best of them being Pip´s Assertive Way (Tony Carroll/ Eamon Dehdashti), who seems to run all his best races at Stratford, where he won last time out. McCoy could well have a successful afternoon at Worcester as Englishtown and Malakiya, both trained by Jonjo O´Neill, appear to have decent chances in the two class 3 handicaps at 17.20 and 17.50 respectively. At Brighton, the class 4 handicap over 6 furlongs at 17.00 is the best race and looks quite tricky. The consistent Punching (Gay Kelleway/ Dane O´Neill) and Peter Island (Jeff Gallagher/ Chris Catlin) have obvious chances, but Ron Harris also has a strong hand with the two top-weights Fyling Goose (Tom McLoughlin) and Billion Dollar Kid (Kevin Ghunowa). Most interesting event at Lingfield is probaby the maiden race over 1 3/4 miles (turf) at 16.10. Wild Rhubarb (Clive Cox/ Seb Sanders) gave a good debut over 11 furlongs a month ago and on pedigree should stay this trip, but Godolphin´s Fortune Citry (Frankie Dettori) - behind him then, but improved since - as well as Lemonesse (Henry Cecil/ Jimm Quinn) and Mushtaaq (Michael Jarvis/ Richard Hills) also look dangerous. The 6 runners in the 2yo novice stakes over 5 furlongs half an hour later include 5 previous winners. Art Preview (Gary and Ryan Moore) and Masamah (Ed Dunlop) are both still unbeaten, but last-time-out winner Evelyn May (Barry and Michael Hills) is also a threat.
