German runners at Maisons-Laffitte

The Paris season is ending this week as the whole of the French racing world decamps to Deauville for the summer break, but there could still be some German-trained winners at Maisons-Laffitte today. Werener baltromei saddles two candidates with good chances in Time to Beat in the conditions race for 3yo´s over 1400 metres at 14.20 and Loup de Mer i the 3100 metres claimning race at 17.20, both with Dominique Boeuf in the saddle. At anywhere near his best form, Loup de Mer, who will be joined by Norbert Sauer´s Pennekar (Jerome Lermyte) in a dual-pronged German challenge, would win this. Horst Steinmetz´ Bedford Hope (Davy Bonilla) also has a fair chamce in the claiming race for 3yo fillies over a mile at 16.20. There is also trotting this afternoon at Laval and this evening at Cabourg.
