German runners at Maisons-Laffitte

The run of success of German-trained runners in France can continue at this afternoon´s meeting at Maisons-Laffitte. Werner Baltromei, who landed a double at Chantilly on Sunday, saddles Sumatra Tiger in the opening 2200 metres race for unraced 3yo s at 14.05. He will be partnered by ominique Boeuf, who also rides Le Big for Uwe Stoltefuss in the mile conditiins race for older horses at 16.05, but this one will have to be at his best to hold Baron Ullmann´ s Salden Licht (André Fabre/ Stephane Pasquier). In the claiming race over 3100 metres at 16.35, Pavel Vovcenko saddles the distance specialist Kasus, a winner of two of his last 3 races in France. However he has to do without his usual jockey Filip Minarik and will today be ridden by Andreas Göritz.
