Deauville stages its first turf meeting of the summer today, when the main event is the Group Three Prix de Ris-Orangis over 6 furlongs at 16.00 CET. The consistent Tiza (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Christophe Soumillon) is the likely favourite here, but on the form shopwn in Germany there is not much between him and Mariol (Robert Collet/ Sebastian Maillot), who finished third at Hamburg last week, while Tiza was third at Baden-Baden in May to Abbadjinn, runner-up in Mariol´s Hamburg race. Only German-trained runner today is Miroslav Rulec´s Thunder Storm Cat (Jean-Michel Breux), who runs in the conditions race over 1900 metres for older horses at 16.35. There is also trotting this afternoon at Beaumont and this evening at Cabourg.
