Plenty of evening action

Racing all over this evening, when Newmarket´s July course opens for the season with one if its popular Friday evening cards, followed by a pop concert. The racing however is no great shakes; Kal Barg (Michael Jarvis/ Philip Robinson) can win the class 3 handicap over 7 furlongs at 21.10 CET, easily the best race on the card. There s also flat racing from Ayr and Goodwood, while in Ireland there is a mixed meeting at Down Royal (4 races over hurdles, 3 on the flat) and Limerick, where the feature is a listed race over 1 3/4 miles. This should go to top-weight Red Moloney (Kevin Prendergast/ Chris Geoghagan), who ran Yeats to 3/4 length at Navan in April, but John Oxx´ 3yo filly Simaya looks dangerous off a very light weight. She ran badly last week at Cork, but this half-sister to Sinndar is capable of much better.
