Flat racing this evening

This evening´s flat racing comes from Sandown and Tipperary in Ireland. At the latter track, there are in fact 4 flat races, two chases and a bumper, but the most interesting event is the 7 furlongs maiden for 3- and 4yo´s at 18.40. 16 runners, of whom two have already shown some abilitity - Prince Igor (Augustine Leahy/ Fran Berry) and Marching Sandy (Edwsard Lynam/ Chris Hayes), while Luminaire (Jim Bolger/ Kevin manning) and Zarilan (Mike Halford/ Johny Murtagh) are well-bred and highly-regarded newcomers. At Sandown, the rapdily improving Topazes (Michael Bell/ Jamie Spencer) can win his fourth race in succession in the 3yo handicap over 7 furlongs at 20.20. The class 3 mile handicap haölf an hpour later looks wide open; Carlitos Spirit (Rod Millman/ Alan Munro) is on a hat-trick, but faces strong opposition from (among others) top-weight Prince of Thebes (Mike Attwater/ Paul Doe), Zero Cool (Gary and Ryan Moore) and Full Victory (Rodney Farrant/ Jimmy Fortune).
