Doncaster, Folkestone and Market Rasen

A big weekend is coming ip, but today´ s cards are relatievly low key. There is summer jumpring this afternmoon at Market Rasen and flat racing at Doncaster and Folkestone, where the most interesting event is the last race, a class 5 handicap over 9 1/2 furlongs at 18.15 CET. Ex-German Artreju runs here, he is now trained by Gary Moore and will be ridden by apprentice Jemma Marshall. He should be thereabouts, but looks held on form by Prime Number (Jon Akehurst/ Jack Mitchell), an eas winner last time, and top-weight Aegean Prince (Richard Hannon/ Pat Dobbs). At Doncaster, the class 3 novices event for 2yo´s over 6 furlongs at 16.25 looks very open, although there are only 6 runners. All of them are last-time-out winners and three are still unbeaten. Perhaps Paul Cole´s Wildcat Wizard (Joe Fanning) and Andrew Balding´s Motor Home (William Buick), both from in-form stables, are the likeliest winners. At Market Rasen, German-bred Harry Potter (Evan Williams/ Paul Moloney) can take the opening selling hurdle at 15.10 as long as the rain stays away. Main feature here is the 2 3/4 mile handicap chase at 16.50 wth 14 runners. John Diamond (Henrietta Knight/ Sam Thomas) has not run since the autumn but seems to do best fresh and is one of several with chances; Laskari (Paul Webber/ Andrew Tinkler) and La Grande Villez (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) also make the short list.
