Big Brown for Triple Crown?

Of almost equal importance to the Epsom Derby is the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in New York, which will be run at 25 minutes past midnight CET. All eyes will be on the unbeaten Big Brown (Rick Dutrow/ Kent Desormeaux), a very easy winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes on his last two starts and now going for the Triple Crown last won 30 years ago. In the meantime, ten colts have attempted to follow up their first two classic victories with a success here and all have failed for one reason or another. History is therefore against him, as is his number one draw, plus a slight training setback last week. However he is clearly the best American 3yo by far and on paper form has only one serious opponent, the Japanese trained Casino Drive (Kasuo Fujisawa/ Edgar Prado), who is also unbeaten, but has only run twice, including an easy victory at this track.
