2 group races at Longchamp

Easily the day´s best racing comes from the Bois de Boulogne, where Longchamp stages a strong card featruring two Group Three races. The Prix Daphnis for 3yo´s over 1800 metres at 15.50 can go to Jean-Claude Rouget´s Indian Daffodil (Christophe Lemaire), who has never yet been out of the first two. Half an hour later, Criquette Head-Maarek can take the Prix de la Porte Maillot over 7 furlongs with African Rose (Stephane Pasquier), where Peter Rau´s Chantra (Johan Victoire) is one of her opponents. The only other German runner at Longchamp is John John (Werner Baltromei/ Dominique Boeuf), who faces 19 opponents in the concluding 2000 metres handicap at 17.20, including ex-German Toninho. Also of German interest is Rolf Brunner´s Manaba (Andrér Fabre/ Johan Victoire), a half-brother to Manduro, who made a pleasing debut recently and can take the 1700 metres race at 14.20.
