Racing this evening

There is evening racing at Doncaster (flat), Hexham (N.H.) and Kilbeggan in Ireland. There are huge fields at the Kilbeggan N.H.meetng, where the best bet should be Clear Riposte (Willie Mullins/Davy Condon) in the mares beginners chase at 21.05 CET; she is making her chase debut, but was easily the best of these over hurdles. By contrast there are small fields, where racing goes agead after an inspection, and quite likely to be some non-runners because of the heavy going; Nicky Richards can land a double here with Etched in Stone (Rose Davidson)) at 19.55 and Mr. Barnacle (Brian Harding) at 21.00. Best rce at Doncaster is the 6 furlongs hamdicap at 20.20, which looks very open with 15 runners. It is made even more complicated by the fact that both David Nicholls and Alan McCabe intend to saddle three runners. Turnkey (Adele Rothery) and Cornus (Robert Winston) respectively are possibly their best chances, but almost anything is possible. Only 3 turn out for the class 3 conditions race for 3yo´s over a mile at 20.50, including Simnon Callaghan´s Gaspar van Wittel (Seb Sanders), an intended runner in the German 2,000 Guineas. However he may not be able to give 2 lbs to Godolphin´s smart Iguazu, Frankie Dettori´s only mount of the evening.
