listed races at Newbury and Hamilton

There are also two listed races today at both Newbury this afternoon and Hamilton this evening. Mark Johnston holds a strong hand at the Scottish track with both Love Galore (Joe Fanning) and Captain Webb (Greg Fairley) entered in the Glasgow Stakes for 3yo´s over 11 furlongs at 20.25 CET. An hour later the listed 1 1/2 miles handicap, has only 6 tunners but still looks very open. Top weight Turbo Linn (Alan Swinbank/ Neil Callan) is smart in this grade but is making his seasonal debut and may find it tough to give so much weight to Gull Wing (Michael Bell/ Richard Mullen). At Newbury, the Carnavon Stakes for 3yo´s over 5 furlongs at 15.20 looks a match between Fat Boy (Peter Chapple-Hyam/ Richard Hughes) and Tajdeef (Barry and Richard Hills). Some of the top jockeys are riding here rather than at York, and it could be significant that Jamie Spencer partners the unfortunaely-named Kotsi for Ed Vaughan in the 3yo fillies race half an hour later. She is the clear choice on 2007 form, but is making her seasonal debut and faces several recent winners, notably Clowance (Roger Charlton/ Steve Drowne) and Asa River (Andrew Balding/ William Buick).
