Jumps racing this evening

There is N.H. racing this evening at Towcester and Tramore in Ireland, and a mixed meeting at Down Royal in N. Ireland (2 N.H., 5 flat races). The most interesting race at Towcester should be the novice hurdle over 2 172 miles at 21.00 CET, with several promising types engaged, notably Emma Lavelle´s Fire and Rain (Robert Thornton), a Galileo gelding fomerly trained by Aidan O´Brien, and Henry Daly´s Sea Eagle (Richard Johnson). There could be a German-bred winner at Tramore, as Spiriton, now trained by Gerald Cully, has good prospects in the opening maiden hurdle for 6-y-o´s at 18.45. The flat races look more interesting than the races over jumps at Down Royal, and David Wachman´s Vegas Baby (Wayne Lordan) can take the 2yo maiden at 19.55, and Ken Condon´s Fay Street (Colm O´Donoghue), placed on all 5 2008 starts, the 7 furlongs maiden an hour later.
