Haydock and Musselburgh

The flat racing this evening comes from Haydock and Musselburgh, and the best race at the Scottish track is the mile claimer 21.50 CET; hat-trick seeking Royal Dignitary (David and Adrian Nicholls) and Sam´s Secret (Alan Swinbank/ PJ McDonald) both have winning form over this CD and should be involved in the finish. The fields are generally small at Musselburgh, but the racing is much more competitive at Haydock, where some useful typres are engaged in the milöe race for maidens at 21.10; Bramaputra (Rod Millman/ Alan Munro) has been runner-up in good company on both his starts so far, but both Al Wasef (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning), a $250,000 yearling, and Persian Sea (Michael Jarvis/ Philip Robinson) shaped like certain future winners on their debuts. The 1 1/2 mile maiden at 22.10 looks much more cut and dried: Brian Meehan´s North Parade (Neil Callan) finished fifth in the Chester Vase last time, 15 lengths behind Derby favourite Tajaweed, and none of his opponents today have form remotely comparable.
