Firm ground at York

The contining dry spell is causing problems foir racetracks and fields are beginning to cut up. This is especially a problem at York, where there are likely to be several non runners today, despite intensive watering. Thereare already two non/runners in the Group Three fillies race at 15.10, leaving a maximum of 5 runners, while it is still not clear whether Henry Cecil will risk his Derby favourite Twice Over in today s main event, the Dante Stakes at 15.40. Thundery showers are apparently on the way (as they are supposed to be in Germany) but it is uncertain when, or where, they will hit.
