Beverley and Fontwell

There is also racing this afternoon at Fontwell (N.H.) and Beverley (flat) and at the former track German-bred Donatessa (Charlie Mann/ Noel Fehily) can make up for a couple of disappointing performances in the mares maiden hurdle at 15.20 CET. The novice hurdle at 16.30 seems to lie between Archduke Ferdinand (Alan King/ Christian Williams), who has been off for a year, and Lupanar (Gary and Jamie Moore), while the handicap hurdle over the long distance of 3 miles 3 furlongs at 17.40 could involve Jug of Punch (Simon Lewis/ Colin Bolger) and River reine (Bob Buckler/ Daryl JacoB), both of whom win easly last time out. The best race at Beverley is the 7 1/2 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s at 16.10. Atabaa´s Pride (Mark Johnston/ Joe Fanning) and Albaqaa (Richard Fahey/ Paul Hanagan) are the two favourites on current form, but Kevin Ryan saddles three here and Jamie Spencer looks a very interesting booking for Thunderstruck, a CD winner last year.
