All-weather action this evening

Great Leighs, whose opening meeting last Sunday was generally ergarded as a big success (despite the obvious lack of facilities for spectators) stages its first evening meeting today, but the floodlights, which are apparently nt yet ready, will not be used. Nost interesting event is the 1 3/4 miles handicap at 19.20 CET. Only 6 runners, but quite an open race, with top-weight Chocolate Caramel (Amanda Perrett/ Jim Crowley) the likely favourite. Trifti (Jo Crowley/ Kevin Ghunowa) defeated Compton Falcon (Ger Butler/ Luke Morris) last time out, but the latter is now 8 lbs better off and both of them can go close. There is also evening all-weather racing from Southwell, where Pertemps Network (Mick Easterby/ Dale Gibson) can follow up his recent victory in the 1 1/2 miles handicap at 19.35. But don´t overlook oldtimer Kylkenny (Hughie Morrison/ Travis Block) - the 13yo loves this track, where he has already won 16 times.
