Prosperous Voyage steps up to defend title

Newmarket, Friday 14 July: On the second day of the July Festival at Newmarket, the Falmouth Stakes (4th race/16.35pm/250,000 pounds/1609m) will be in focus. Last year`s winner Prosperous Voyage (William Buick) celebrated her first success of the season in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Group 3).

Most recently in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) she put in another good performance when third, but was not quite up to the second-placed Random Harvest (Saffie Osborne). Via Sistina (Jamie Spencer) underlined her strong form with a triumph in the Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1). She should also play a major role as last year`s Oaks third Nashwa (Hollie Doyle) and Remarquee (Rob Hornby), who only had to let one rival go in the Coronation Stakes (Group 1). Coppice (Tom Marquand) announced himself with a handicap win.
