Grand National du Trot in La Rochelle

Châtelaillon-La Rochelle, Thursday, 13 July: The eighth leg of the provincial series Grand National du Trot (4th race/17.35 h/90,000 Euro/2500 m) will be decided today in Châtelaillon-La Rochelle. Not as usual, the Group 3 match will be started by car.

After three `GNT` wins in a row, Horace du Goutier (Hugues Montule) goes to the expiry as favourite. He took a good length off Gaspar d`Angis (Eric Raffin) in the recent Langon leg, but the underdog showed all his class in Le Croise-Laroche to win superiorly over higher rated horses. No bet should be made without Elie de Beaufour (Jean-Michel Bazire). After a drop in form, the nine-year-old made a comeback in the Grand Prix du Conseil Municipal (Group 2). A victory is only a question of time. Falco d`Havaroche (Louis Baudouin) should run better this time, which also applies to Heliade du Goutier (Matthieu Abrivard). Doux Parfum (Denis Brossard) and Etoile de Bruyere (Charles Dreux), who surprisingly won in March in front of the sulky, are conceivable in front.
