High class in the Prix Vichy Celestins

Vichy, Monday, 5 June: At the Hippodrome de Vichy Bellerive, the Prix Vichy Celestins (2nd race/16.43 h/57,000 Euro/3525 m), a high-quality Course A test with horses of the higher winning category, is up for decision today.

From 325,000 euros winning number, an allowance is required, which means an extra 25 metres for the two protégés from Jean-Michel Bazire`s quarters. Gently de Muze (Christophe Martens) and Elie de Beaufour (Serge Peltier) could nevertheless appear in the front line, as they recently put in an excellent performance in the Prix des Ducs de Normandie (Group 2) behind Hohneck, who is currently successful in the Elitloppet, finishing fourth and fifth. Fakir du Lorault (Gabriele Gelormini) also put in a respectable seventh place. From the basic brand, Horchestro (David Bekaert) is considered to have great chances. On his appearance in the Grand National du Trot in Lyon he was better than Eclat de Gloire (Lois Garcia) and on 24 May he pleased with allowance not far from the winner. Iguski Sautonne (Matthieu Abrivard) and Gamin Jaba (Romain Congard) are other horses in form with prospects of a top placing.
