German chance in the Prix du Cher

Compiegne, Monday, 15 May: Eight steeplechase races are on the programme in Compiegne today. In the main event, Prix du Cher (6th race/14.05 h/88.000 Euro/3800 m/List race), nine horses will compete over hurdles.

German hopes rest on Cabot Cliffs (Hakim Tabet), trained by Christian Freiherr von der Recke, who finished a good fifth behind Master Nonantais (Gaetan Masure) in the Grande Course de Haies (Group 3) here. The latter could put himself in the limelight this year with two third places. At maximum weight, he is not facing an easy, but nevertheless solvable task. La Cheneviere (Bertrand Lestrade), who finished second on her seasonal debut on 10 April, is a better weight. Marie Coastala (Angelo Zuliani) is recommended by her List victory in a mares` race. Might I (Felix de Giles) arrives from England with interesting forms and could win as well as Katribu (Johnny Charron) who ran very well in Lyon.
