Fire of the Sun in the Prix du Muguet

Saint-Cloud, Monday 1 May. Nine races will be decided today in Saint-Cloud. The Prix du Muguet (4th race/15.48/130,000 Euro/1600 m) takes centre stage and appeals to four-year-old and older horses.

German hopes rest on Fire of The Sun (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev) from the stable of Peter Schiergen. The stallion returns to the site of his last defeat. In the Prix Perth (Group 3), he finished well behind Facteur Cheval (Gerald Mosse), Tribalist (Mickael Barzalona) and Rosacea (Alexis Pouchin) in the beaten field, who finished first by clear margins. The result was recently turned on its head in the Prix Edmond Blanc (Group 3). Tribalist won this time ahead of Facteur Cheval and Rosacea. The Revenant (Tony Piccone) moved into second place, before that he won here at list level. In the Prix Daniel Wildenstein (Group 2), the Graffard protégé Erevann (Christophe Soumillon), who in his five-start career has only suffered defeat in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard (Group 1), lost. Fort Payne (Maxime Guyon) pleases with two wins on the sand track.
